Week 12: Research Process (Conceptual and Operation Levels)
Research process in social sciences contains a series of closely related activities which has to be carried out by a researcher. Media and Communication research, like other social science resaerch consists of several stages. The researcher must first choose a topic to investigate and then become familiar with prior research on the topic. Once appropriate data are gathered and analyzed, the researcher can then draw appropriate conclusions. As the previous lesson discussed three steps including selection of problem; literature review; and statement of hypothesis and research question described by Wimmer and Dominik (2011), thislesson focuses on Methodology, data collection, Analysis, presentation ofresults and replication.
