Week 2: • Social Scientific Inquiry
Science is all about learning and understanding something new. Inquiry means to ask for information or to investigate something to find out more. Scientific inquiry is using evidence from observations and investigations to create logical explanations and answer questions. Scientific inquiry is for people who want to be challenged and use creative and critical thinking to answer questions related to science. Scientific research is an organized, objective, controlled, qualitative, or quantitative empirical analysis of one or more variables. The scientific method is a process for experimentation that is used to explore observations and answer questions. Scientific methods have two major aspects one that deals with the methods employed and others with the results achieved. This lesson is focused on developing an understanding of the characteristics of Scientific research methods, the use of scientific methods in media research, and their Importance.
