Week 7: Variation in WE (Vocabulary)
This session introduces various levels of linguistic diefferences among the varieties of English spoken all around the globe. Lexical level or vocabulary is one of the most significant levels of differences to study. Borrowing, coining etc are the strategies used by the speakers that enrich vocabulary of a variety. The lecture explains such strategies highlighting the differnces with examples.
