Week 12: WE: Contemporary Contexts n Functions

As the most commonly used language on the Internet, social media, e-business, etc, Internet English has become a new variety of English. Besides the common features it shares with other varieties, Internet English also presents some distinct features in word-formation and lexicon. By analyzing the word-formation and the features of Internet English, people are able to make better use of network resources and achieve effective communication on the Internet. World Englishes has variety of contexts in which it serves variety of functions.
