Histology of Pancreas

Pancreas is a mixed glands. The exocrine portion secretes Digestive enzymes and the endocrine portion secretes insulin, glucagon.

Objective:

The students should be able to explain

1) Differentiate between endocrine and exocine portion of Pancreas under light microscope.

2) The microscopic features of cells of islet of Langerhans.

3) The functions of different cells of Islet of Langerhans
