Micro-circulation & Lymphatic System

The Microcirculation and the Lymphatic System: Capillary Fluid Exchange, Interstitial Fluid, and Lymph Flow. The most purposeful function of the circulation occurs in the microcirculation: this is transport of nutrients to the tissues and removal of cell excreta.

At the end of the lesson student should able to learn about:

  • Structure of the Microcirculation and Capillary system.
  • Exchange of water, Nutrients and other substances between blood and interstitial fluid.
  • Interstitium and Interstitial fluid.
  • Capillary fluid filtration is determined by hydrostatic and colloid osmotic pressure and capillary filtration coefficient.
  • Lymphatic system.
