OBJECTIVES

The course aims at teaching the students at first hand the process of producing a news paper and magazine from material gathering and selection to editing, composing, page makeup, use of illustrations to printing. It will be a practical course and the student will be expected to produce by themselves a complete magazine

CONTENTS

Introduction, Scope and challenges in Pakistan, Types, Ideas (Innovations), Contents, Composing (Headlines/text), Editing, Use of photographs, cartoons, sketches, maps, logos etc, Lay out, Planning (editorial, marketing, dummy etc.). Difference between newspaper and magazine.

Developing ideas, Essay Writing, Interview Writing, Feature Writing, Pictorial Story Writing/display, Headlines, title, logos etc., Editorial writing, Title pages (front and back),

Students will be divided in teams to produce at least  news paper and magazines. For this, students will: Create, compose and design the pages themselves and to Present the paper magazine in printed form and soft copy as well

Pre-requisite

Students should have basic knowledge of news paper and magazine ,collecting news, composing,and publishing.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

 80 % class attendance is a must.

 Assignments would not be accepted after the due date.

 Originality of work would be ensured in case of assignments.

 In group presentations, group members have to divide the sub-topics in consultation

            with the teache
