 Introduction.

Manufacturing engineering or manufacturing process are the steps through which raw materials are transformed into a final product. The manufacturing process begins with the product design, and materials specification from which the product is made. These materials are then modified through manufacturing processes to become the required part. Manufacturing process is that part of the production process which is directly concerned with the change of form or dimensions of the part being produced. It does not include the transportation, handling or storage of parts, as they are not directly concerned with the changes into the form or dimensions of the part produced.

Course pre requisites (if any)

Basic knowledge about manufacturing processes, conventional machining, machine tools and machining, workshops technology.

Learning outcomes

Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:

  • Understand various manufacturing processes
