Introduction:
It is a specialized connective tissue designed to give support, bear weight and withstand tension, torsion and bending.
General Features:
- Avascular tissue
- Non nervous structure
- Poor regeneration capacity
- Usually surrounded by perichondrium
Types:
- Hyaline cartilage
- Elastic cartilage
- Fibrocartilage
