Week 15: PR Practice

Press Release

A press release is a short, compelling news story written by a public relations professional and sent to targeted members of the media. The goal of a press release is to pique the interest of a journalist or publication. The press release should contain all the essential information (who? what? where? when? how? and most importantly why?) for the journalist to easily produce his own story.

Students will be taught how to write a press release. Moreover, they will be given various tasks to enhance their skills.

Task

  • Students are asked to write a press release on an event i.e. one-day seminar on drug abuse held at Noon Business School, University of Sargodha. The students must highlight the important saying of the key speakers.

 

PR Practice

Students will be given various tasks such as creation of different PR tools in order to promote public relations of any organization, topic or idea.

Task 1

  • Create a public service message on COVID-19 (in English and Urdu both)

Task 2

  • Create a banner ad regarding awareness about Covid-19.
