Week 17: AC Power Analysis and Three Phase Circuits
Our effort in ac circuit analysis so far has been focused mainly on calculating voltage and current. Our major concern in this lesson is power analysis. We will begin by defining and deriving instantaneous power and average power. We will then introduce other power concepts.
So far in this text, we have dealt with single-phase circuits. Circuits or systems in which the ac sources operate at the same frequency but different phases are known as polyphase. In this lesson, we will be discussing some basics of three-phase circuits.
