Statistics is the science which deals with the collection, classifications, and tabulations of numerical facts as the basis for explanation, description and comparison of phenomenon. Biostatistics is the term used when tools of statistics are applied to the data that is related to biological sciences such as medicines. Medicines is essentially an empirical science it depends on observation and not on theories or theorems. As a part of clinical practice, or research one may deal with observations systematically arranged called data. The process of converting data into information requires a special approach called Statistics. So the goal is to equip the graduates with the knowledge of statistical theory, data collection techniques and analysis that can be applied to study data and used in reporting results.
