Introduction to course

  • Dipole Moments and Intermolecular Interactions
  • VSEPR model followed by VB Theory
  • pi – Acceptor Ligands
  • Organic Reagents used in Inorganic Analysis

Course pre-requisites (if any)

  • The prerequisites is the Inorganic Chemistry I (CHEM - 6103) in minimum grade “C” or better.

Learning outcomes

  • Students will acquire know-how and understanding about dipole moment alongwith significance of intermolecular forces, theories explaining the geometries, bonding pattern in different inorganic molecule, role of metal carbonyls and its derivatives in catalysis and organic synthesis. The course emphasizes the significance of organic reagents involved in inorganic analysis especially the chelating reagents.
