This final chapter brings together the rapid delivery technologies we covered in Part III, with the rapid delivery methods discussed earlier in Parts I and II. I will start by
examining the concepts of virtualization and “on-demand” computing. We will see how our existing IT infrastructure will evolve to this more flexible environment for
better utilization of hardware, storage, networks, operating systems, and applications. I will next discuss modeling tools, which provide the modeling bridge from
the methods in Parts I and II to the implementation technologies of Part III. The chapter concludes with a summary of key principles from the book on methods,
technologies, and enterprise architecture directions for the future.
