Week 03-04: Calculus with parametric equation and Introduction to Polar coordinate
Learning outcomes:
In this section student will learn how to apply calculus to parametric curves. Specifically, finding of slopes, lengths, and areas associated with parametrized curves. The study of polar coordinates and their relation to Cartesian coordinates. Polar coordinates are very useful for calculating many multiple integrals. They are also useful in describing the paths of planets and satellites.
Lesson Plan:
Lecture 01. Coordinates of the centroid of the curve
Lecture 02. Implicitly Defined Parametrizations
Lecture 03. Calculation of volume of parametrized curve
Lecture 04. Introduction to the polar coordinates
Lecture 05. Relating Polar and Cartesian Coordinates
Lecture 06. Conversion of polar to cartesian and cartesian to polar equation
