ROLE OF CITIZEN POLICE LIAISON COMMITTEE (CPLC) IN CRIME PREVENTION

CPLC (Citizen Police Liaison Committee) Karachi was established in August 1989 as a non-political statutory institution, operationally independent and managed by dedicated and concerned citizens offering their honorary services. CPLC emerged at a time when kidnapping for ransom had become a lucrative occupation in Karachi. It attracted the interest of the business community as they were the prime target of kidnappers because of their wealth.

CPLC Lahore, was established by the Government of the Punjab under section 168 of the Police ORDER OF 2002 ON 28TH OF August 2004 as a voluntary, self-financing and autonomous body.
