Dimensions of Communities
Community has multiple dimensions that are relevant in different ways for informing community practice by framing community as an organizing principle for targeting intervention or as a foundation for broader social action. Chaskin suggests three lenses through which to view community: social, spatial and political. Each lens emphasizes a particular dimesnion of community structure and processs within which different component actors and processes- individuals, organizations, networks- may be identified, active and activated.
