The effective delivery of content is possible only through the implementation of appropriate teaching strategies. Teaching strategy is a generalized plan for a lesson which includes structure, instructional objectives and an outline of planned tactics, necessary to implement the strategies. Hence the awareness about different teaching strategies not only broadens the vision of teachers but it also makes the teaching learning process more efficient and meaningful. This course has been designed to bring out important aspects of teaching strategies and their potential role.
Technology is the application of scientific knowledge for the welfare of humanity. If we use this scientific knowledge for the welfare of students and teachers (for better teaching and learning purposes), it becomes educational technology. Many new technologies have emerged with the passage of time. Each technology brings new challenges and opportunities. This course contains rich contents on educational technology and its implications in teaching learning process. It also emphasizes that teachers should not simply assume that new technologies are good for education. Instead, they need to make educationally justified and sustainable choices of when and how to use the technologies they decide to use.
Keeping in view the challenges of 21st century, this course indicates the role of educational technology in learning process and development of educational objectives. Moreover, it also throws light on organization and management of instructional media, planning and producing of effective instructional materials and new trends in educational technology which will enable students to enhance their learning.
