This course provides the concept of development from sociological perspectives. In this course, you will deepen your understanding of sociology through the historical growth of how both individuals and society metamorphosize from one stage to another. It is designed to enable the students to understand human behavior and social relations within the context of development. This course is a study of development from different theoretical models for understanding macro-level social change. Possible areas for exploration include the environment, economic development, revolution, urbanization, population, and poverty. The course is critical engagement of the theoretical explanations of development, underdevelopment and consideration of the effectiveness of the prescribed solutions to the problem of underdevelopment around the world.
