Media and journalism have evolved rapidly over the last few decades. Journalism is not just about events and stories, but how they’re told. The course teaches about different writing forms and genres, and professional editing. The Journalistic Language Course is been divided in two part, Urdu and English. By the end of this course students should be able to demonstrate an understanding effective writing for journalism and have the confidence to develop their own writing style with effectively and efficiently communicating a story.

DESCRIPTION

Media and journalism have evolved rapidly over the last few decades. Journalism is not just about events and stories, but how they’re told. Journalists inform the public about circumstances and occurrences which are of significance to society at large. Journalists therefore contribute to the shaping of public opinion.  A journalist's core tasks include investigation, writing, presenting, and editing. The course teaches about different writing forms and genres, and professional editing.

Pre-requisite

Students should have basic knowledge of Media Writing and the confidence to develop their own writing style with effectively and efficiently communicating a story.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

 80 % class attendance is a must.

 Assignments would not be accepted after the due date.

 Originality of work would be ensured in case of assignments.

 In group presentations, group members have to divide the sub-topics in consultation with the teacher.
