This course is designed to trained chemistry students in computer and several software required nowadays to complete the assignments, to design presentations and to make chemical drawings. This course is aimed to introduce computer and its basic numerical methods, data handling, curve fitting, errors, graphical display of data, etc. World Wide Web and Chemical Databases on internet will also be discussed and taught to the students. Techniques of information search, Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint), Chemsketch/Chemdraw are the major software and portion of the present course. Students will be trained in the applications of above mentioned software. Second portion of this course is to introduce statistical analysis of chemical data and its importance. Here we teach the students how to use different statistical software like one way ANAOVA to obtain valuable information which are important for reproducibility of the experimental work and to develop trust on data.
