This course examines the relationship between gender, crime and the criminal justice system. Drawing on feminist historical, criminological and socio-legal relationship, the course examines the way in which gender affects patterns of offending, victimization and imprisonment. Particular attention will be paid to the treatment of women inside and outside the criminal justice system.
