Organic chemistry is the sub-discipline of chemistry involving the scientific study of the structure, properties, and reactions of organic compouonds/organic materials which includes the material things composed of carbon and hydrogen along with their derivatives. The course includes the detail study of organic compounds synthesis, condensation reactions, several methods for C-C alkylation, general conditions for reactions precedence, detection and trapping of reactions intermediates and steriochemical consequences of chemical reactions which is helpful for the design and development of new therapeutics for bioinvestigations. The alkene condensation will be discussed in detail which have vast application for polymeric material development i.e., synthetic rubber, polyesters, dyes, fabrics, plastics and gels. This course also includes the synthesis and reactivity of various common organic molecules which are being practically involved in our daily usage in the form of food ingredients, medicine, anti-septic sprays/aerosol, perfumes, food preservative, energy sources as well as toxin. So, it is of utmost importance to have basic practical and theoretical knowledge about the common organic reactions.
