DESCRIPTION AND OBJECTIVES.
This course is designed to generate awareness among the students regarding constitutional and political evolution of pakistan.The main objective of the course is to acquaint students with dynamics of pakistan politics.The course includes major events of pakistan politics,federation, parliamentary and presidential system, role of military and bureaucracy in politics, imposition of Martial Law, political parties and pressure groups, National Integration, role of Judiciary, political participation and different other institutions in pakistan.
INTENDED COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES.
1- To genrate awareness among the students regarding contitutional and political evolution of pakistan.
2- The main purpose of this course is to acquaint students with dynamics issues of politics of pakistan.
3- To make the students to underststand federal system,parliamentary and presidential form of government,role of military and bureaucracy in politics,imposition of martial law,political parties and pressure groups,national integration,role of judiciary and various other institutions in pakistan.

1- Ideological Moorings ( Two -Nation Theory and Ideology of Pakistan ).
2- Review of history of costitution making.
3- Major constitutional problems.
4- Comparative study of constitutions of pakistan 1956,1962 and 1973.
5- Critical appraisal of the working of Parliamentary System.
6- Working of Presidential System.
7- Role of Military in the politics of Pakistan.
8- Impostion of Martial Law in Pakistan in 1958, 1969, 1977 and 1999.
9- Role of Bureaucracy in the politics of Pakistan.
10- Role of Political Parties in Pakistan.
11- Role of Pressure Groups in pakistan.
12- National Integration.
13- Political Participation.
14- Role of Local Self-Government in Pakistan.
15- Role of Judiciary in constitutional development of Pakistan.

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA.
1-Mid Term Examination. 30 Marks
2-Final Term Examination. 50 Marks
3 -Sessional Marks ( Presentation, Assignment, Participation and Attendance ). 20 Marks
4- 75% attendance of the each student of class is mandatory to take the Final Term Examination.
RESEACH PROJECT.
The assignment topic regarding on the relevant subject is provided to each student of the class for the research purpose. The lenght of this topic shall not be less than 10 pages. Each student will be participated on the on the relevant topic in class.Some questions are asked by the teacher and other students of the class.
