week--1 & 2
- Introduction to AI: Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think like humans and mimic their actions. The term may also be applied to any machine that exhibits traits associated with a human mind such as learning and problem-solving.
- Intelligent Agents: In artificial intelligence, an intelligent agent (IA) refers to an autonomous entity which acts, directing its activity towards achieving goals (i.e. it is an agent), upon an environment using observation through sensors and consequent actuators (i.e. it is intelligent).
- Problem Solving: According to psychology, “a problem-solving refers to a state where we wish to reach to a definite goal from a present state or condition.” According to computer science, a problem-solving is a part of artificial intelligence which encompasses a number of techniques such as algorithms, heuristics to solve a problem.
