Week no 1

Students will be asked to read  "Introduction"  in "Romanticism: An Anthology, 4th Edition" edited by Duncan Wu and the introductions (in the same book) to the individual writers in the Romantics section.

Also Students will be asked to study ,"A Critical History of English Literature" by David Daiches to understand Romanticism in historical perspective

PS The Wiley Blackwell Anthology will furnish as the primary text. Selected readings (poems, letters, essays) will be discussed in the class.
