week1 : Introduction
in the first class we start Introduction to sociology: sociology is a branch of the social sciences that uses systematic methods of empirical investigation and critical analysis to develop and refine a body of knowledge about social structure and activity for the welfare of the society. The first social scientist to use the trem sociology was a Franchman by the name of August Comte who lived from 1798-1857. The term sociology ia a combination of two words.
Definitions of sociology: 1st "Sociology is the study of society". 2nd According to Durkheim " The science of institutions". 3rd According to Robertson " Sociology is the scientific study of human society and social behavior".
