The computer has changed society today as much as the industrial revolution changed society in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. People interact directly with computers in fields such as education, finance, government, health care, science, publishing, travel, and manufacturing. In addition, they can reap the benefits from breakthroughs and advances in these fields.
