Week-01: Experiment # 01 (S&S)

Experiment # 01

Demonstrating the use of MATLAB and perform Signal Plotting

Objective:

This lab provides an introduction to MATLAB. The lab also provides tutorial of matrix operations, script writing and plotting aspect of MATLAB from signals and system point of view.

Apparatus:

PC having MATLAB software

Theory:

MATLAB (matrix laboratory) is a multi-paradigm numerical computing environment and fourth-generation programming language. Developed by Math Works, MATLAB allows matrix manipulations, plotting of functions and data, implementation of algorithms, creation of user interfaces, and interfacing with programs written in other languages, including C, C++, Java, Fortran and Python.

Although MATLAB is intended primarily for numerical computing, an optional toolbox uses the MuPADsymbolic engine, allowing access to symbolic computing capabilities. An additional package, Simulink, adds graphical multi-domain simulation and Model-Based Design for dynamic and embedded systems.
