week 3-4-5: Mapping statistical surfaces

This lesson includes the following topics:

  1. Thematic map, choropleth, dot map, isolines, area cartograms.
  2. Principles of cartographic design, general design problems; design of map symbols. Basic procedure and designing of the thematic maps such as topographic, climatic, economic, population, settlements, urban morphology, etc.
