Week 8: Introduction the second novelist and the novel

George Eliot has the distinction of being the first modern novelist in the literal sense of the word. She revealed a novel design which is also a continuous effect on the current novel writing pattern. The main reason for her fame is that she is the first modern English writer. The first season of the English novel begins with Fielding and ends with Tollope. The second period is of Henry James and Meredith.
