  • Week 1-2: Introduction to Ultraviolet-Visible Spectroscopy, UV & wood ward Fieser rule for lamda max calculations.
  • Week 3-4: Introduction to IR, factors affecting IR and synthetic applications. Exercise of λ max calculation and Assignment. Lab: Qualitative analysis of carbohydrates, protein and lipid.
  • Week 5-6: Biomolecules (carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and nucleic acids, synthesis and properties), their importance. Lab: Estimate of glucose in the sample by the titration method.
