Fast Rural Development Program

Fast Rural Development Program (FRDP) is a nonprofit and nongovernmental organization, registered under the societies Act XXI of 1860, working in the rural areas of Sindh, Pakistan.

The Program is aimed at facilitating the rural communities in a way that they can be empowered to secure their rights with command over the resources and capabilities to manage the process of sustainable development.

FRDP is involved with overall integrated rural development but her major focus is to promote Health & Hygiene, Relief support activities, improve Education status to support the target of Universal Primary Education (UPE) goal, Poverty Alleviation, Rights protection, Water and Sanitation and Capacity Building in Sindh province.

  • WASH:
    Fast Rural Development Program is helping to flood affected communities since 2011 in different districts i.e. Mirpurkhas, Sanghar & Jacobabad with the support of UNICEF Pakistan.
    FRDP completed two projects of water & Sanitation (WASH) in Mirpurkhas & Sanghar, supported 4000 families. In both projects FRDP Provided safe drinking water and supplies & soft activities.
    FRDP currently working in district Jacobabad on WASH with the support of UNICEF Pakistan / SAFWCO Sindh consortium, providing support to 4000 families.
  • HEALTH:
    Fast Rural Development Program with the support of GAYA Trust Mirpurkhas & PMA Sindh provided medical support to 400 flood affected peoples of Mirpurkhas in 2011.
  • EDUCATION:
    Fast Rural Development Program is running school and computer center in Sehwan sharif since 2003 and helped 500 students for free education.
  • SOCIAL MOBILIZATION:
    Fast Rural Development Program has been working with communities of Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Hyderabad, Thatta, Badin, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar , Jamhsoro, Dadu, Qambar & Shahdadkot. Created 500 community groups.
  • WOMEN RIGHTS:
    FRDP has worked with Aurat Foundation & USAID helped to reach as more as can, FRDP has completed Gender Equity Project (GEP) in 6 districts of Sindh i.e. Thatta, Badin, Hyderabad, Jamshoro etc.
  • SHELTER:
    FRDP has been working since 2011 and providing support of emergency shelters in 2 districts with the support of IOM / DFID. FRDP has provided assistance to 1000 families in district mirpurkhas and 2000 emergency shelters in District Jacobabad, Sindh.
