Log Book for Practical Training Record

OBJECTIVES OF THE LOG BOOK
1. This Log Book will help the trainee to maintain his/her record regarding practical training.
2. It will also identify his/her deficiencies in specific areas of learning.
3. It will help the teachers to assess the trainee.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE TRAINING:
1. This clinical training is designed with the intention to provide orientation to students about various tasks to be performed      and/ or observed in different disciplines of pathology lab during the clinical training in one of the general or specialized        hospital. During clinical training, student under go in depth training in all the sections of diagnostic laboratory.
2. Practical applications of learned theories/concepts at college.
3. To develop the talent to design, evaluate and implement new methods or protocols in different clinical laboratories.
4. Acquire experience with the performance and quality control of routine and specialized medical laboratory testing                procedures and an understanding of the theoretical basis of these procedures.
5. Acquire experience of trouble-shooting and resolving typical problems in the clinical laboratory and familiar with                    laboratory quality assurance, laboratory safety, laboratories regulations, information systems, management, data                  collection and research design.
6. Acquire in-depth knowledge of the relationship between laboratory data and pathologic processes, and how laboratory        data relate to health and disease.
7. To prepare competent laboratory specialist who have acquired necessary knowledge, skills, training and proficiency in        the laboratory diagnosis.
8. To develop ability to work independently and as a team member to perform critical thinking and problem solving skills in      different diagnostic laboratory domains.
9. To develop the practical and technical skills to commence professional’s carriers as independent Technologist and/or to      progress to further postgraduate research studies.
