Ingestive Behaviour

Ingestive Behaviour. This chapter describes about two main behaviour that are important for our survival i.e. Drinking and Eating Behaviour. Ingestive behavior, that is, feeding and drinking, is a complex process that involves a variety of psychological factors, neuronal mechanisms, metabolic processes, and gastrointestinal mechanisms that convey neural and humoral signals to the central nervous system (CNS) (1). The fine regulation of ingestive behavior through these components ensures the maintenance of normal energy metabolism.
