DESCRIPTION& OBJECTIVES

Dispensing Pharmacy

 

READINGS

Dispensing Pharmacy introduction, prescription, pharmaceutical incompatibilities extemporaneous product preparation, packaging and labelling.

CONTENTS

 Prescription and parts of prescription, History of prescription its standardization. Prescription handling steps, pricing of extemporaneous products. Different packaging materials used for pharmaceutical products, types of containers according to the dosage forms, child resistant containers, packaging inserts, Labelling its types and uses. Introduction of various extemporaneous dosage forms. (Hafiz Rashid Hussain)

 

 

PHARMACEUTICAL INCOMPATIBILITIES: Introduction. Types of Incompatibilities, Physical incompatibility; Immiscibility, Insolubility, Liquefaction. Chemical incompatibility, precipitate yielding interactions, Solubility of the unionized Acid or Base, Double decomposition and other chemical reactions, Complexation. Therapeutic Incompatibility. Manifestations, Correction and Prevention with reference to typical examples( Mamoonadar)
