This course deals with advanced techniques of research & industrial significance. The course provides comprehensive overview ranging from fundamental principles, instrumentation and applications of two major chromatographic techniques including gas liquid chromatography (GLC) and high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) alongwith concept of theoretical plate model and efficiency of column etc. The course will also cover brief overview of recent advancements in these techniques. Theoretical principles and details about instrumentation of GLC and HPLC will be covered including sample preparation to sample injection, columns, detectors and integrators etc. The course encompasses applications of these techniques in different industries and quality control. The ultimate objective of this course is to impart knowledge of state-of-the-art chromatographic methods to students with specialization in analytical chemistry.
