OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

The main objective of the study of sociology helps the individual to understand human society and how social systems work. A comparative suty of human societies enables us to understand that people in different societies have many different solutions to the universal human problems of making a living.    

Sociology is the study of society, patterns of social relationships, social interaction, and culture that surrounds everyday life. it is a social science that uses various methods of empirical investigation and critical analysis to develop a body of knowledge about social order and social change. Subject matter can range from a micro-level analysis of society to macro-level analysis. 

Learning Outcomes

  1.  Critically examine theoretical perspectives and be able to apply them to current issues.
  2. Evaluate ideas and debates using the sociological perspective.
  3. Students will be able to identify how social structures create and reproduce different forms of social inequality, locally and globally.
  4.   Students will explain the sociological perspective and sociological theory to explain and identify the social problems and issues of human society.
  5.   Students will able to understand the social problems of society.

  • Culture, Meaning and nature of culture, Elements, Norms, values, beliefs, sanctions, Transmission of culture
  • Socialization, Agents of socialization 
  • Social Organization and social interaction
  • social control, social processes, social stratification
  • social Mobility and social change
  • Social Deviance and crime
  • unemployment, The youth and druge addiction, growth of urbanization, poverty etc
  • social institutions (Family, Religion, Education, and political institution)

Wednesday to Thursday (  8.00 to 9.30) Regular

Wednesday to Thursday (12.30 to 2.00) Self-support

Rules for the students:

  1.  75% class attendance is compulsory to sit in the final exam.
  2. Class timing should be strictly followed.
  3. Tasks assigned regarding the project must be covered in the given time.
