Introduction:

This course is designed for graduate students on the History of Central Asia discussing ancient, medieval, and modern history of it. It aims at elaborating theoretical foundation of its culture, history, politics and economy. It explains the historical background of imperialism carried out by major powers of Central Asia like Turkey during medieval period and its retreat and following developments. It highlights the significance of the region in contemporary political scenario and pertinent geo-political dynamics.

Learning Outcomes:

On compeletion of the course, the students will be able to understand the history of Central Asia. The studnets will be able to analyze, historical development of the culture and civilization of Central Asia.

Evaluation

The Course will require participation of students in class discussions and in question answer sessions.

Class Participation                   = 5 marks

Assignment+ Presentation       = 15 marks

Mid Term Examination            = 30 marks

Final Examination                    =50 marks
