INTRODUCTION.
This course aims at introducing modern drama to the students and the factors contributing to the revival of English drama. This course also focuses on the techniques employed by the dramatists of modern era. The readers will clearly differentiate between the structural techniques and thematic aspects of earlier plays and those of modern drama
AIMS
The aims of this course are to:
i- enable the students to comprehend and evaluate the specific modern dramas in terms of themes, structures and underlying philosophies
ii- enable the students to apply their knowledge gained through intensive reading of the specific texts/plays included in this course to other dramas of modern age.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end the course, the students will be to
i- explain/evaluate the themes/ philosophies, structures and characters of the specific plays.
ii- highlight the prevalent trends in the drama of the modern ages
