Code of Civil Procedure is a Code of providing mechanism to decide controversy between the parties within the parameters prescribed there under. CPC consist of two parts i.e "Section" and "Orders". Part one of the CPC consist of 158 "Sections" which is Substantive Law whereas part two consist of 51 Order, which is procedural in nature.
CPC is an exhaustive Code on the matters dealt therein. The body of the Code is expressive in general terms and has to be read in conjunction with the Rules which are concerned with details and machinery indicating the mode in which the jurisdiction created by the body of the code is to be exercised.
The object of the Code is clear from its preamble. The Code is intended to consolidate and amend the laws relating to the procedure of the Civil Courts
