COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course offers students the ability, by critically examining research languages, ethics and methods, to strengthen their understanding of research. The course provides research vocabulary, ethical concepts and challenges as well as foundations in the research method, both quantitatively and qualitatively. These theoretical foundations will be used by the students to start a critical analysis of literature relevant to their fields or interests and to evaluate how research results are useful in shaping understanding of their work and social, local and global environments. The course was built for students who already have some understanding of the methods of research and who want to develop their career in the field of research. The course not only deals with social science studies but also helps students to discuss their studies concerns and issues.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. This course will familiarise students with research process (reading, analysing, and developing).

  2. Comprehension and use of information and communication technologies for the research project.

  3. Plan and apply methods of quantitative or qualitative analysis using the applicable statistical or interpretative test depending on the study question and data type.
