Introduction and Learning Outcomes

Social problems are found in the social structure and social functioning which brings hindrances in the normal and smooth functioning of society.This course is designed to impart the knowledge of persistant, contemporary and emerging Social Problems of society. It will also acquaint student with the knowledge of different perspectives of Social Problems like social pathology, social disorganization, value conflict, deviant behavior, labeling and the critical perspective. It will also discuss problems arising out of natural disasters and major problems of Pakistani society like poverty, illiteracy, unemployment, child labor, beggary, crimes, drugs addiction, Juvenile Delinquency, over population, child abuse, corruption and problems of aging.

Sessional: 20 Marks

Final Exam: 50 Marks
