All fruits occupy a specific area of cultivation throughout the world. Chief among them is mango, banana and citrus. Other fruits of importance are guava, papaya, apple, strawberry and pomegranates. The importance of fruits in human diet cannot be overemphasized because of their high nutritional value. The total production of fruits can be doubled if adequate attention would be given to proper cultivation practices and to control of diseases. After attending this course, students have better understanding of major pathogenic diseases occurring in fruits orchard and their management strategies.
