DESCRIPTION & OBJECTIVES

To teach students about Hematological and Solid tumors  treatment include Neoadjuvant chemotherapy, Adjuvant Chemotherapy, Radiation therapy, Hormone therapy, Targeted therapy and Palliative treatments.

 Teaching program for undergraduates and postgraduate students with clinical attachment in oncology ward including early detection and screening, diagnosis ,concept of staging, method of Treatment and follow up care.

Objective:

  1. The purpose of Radiotherapy/Oncology course is to provide a learning environment for the students to develop basic oncological skills; it contains comprehensive information and modules encompassing the discipline of oncology.  The material is intended to teach medical students the skills required in Staging and principle of Cancer Treatment and guides students to better manage Cancer patients.
  2. Developing communication, interactional and interpersonal skills are integral to high quality health care which is another main objective of this course.

At the end of course the learner of this subject at the Department of Radiotherapy/Oncology will be able to get the knowledge of:

                       Common malignant tumor, Causes, Diagnostic approach staging work up, management, and follows up
