Objectives:

This course is designed to make students aware of basic human rights to impart basic knowledge about national and international bodies on human rights provide a sense of defending one’s own rights besides the spirit of fighting for others’ rights.To acquaint students with national and international legal documentation on human rights.

           INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES:

           After studying this course the students are expected to have:

  • An understanding of the historical growth of the idea of human rights

  • Awareness of the international context of human rights

  • Understand the importance of the Human Rights Act 1998

    Description of system of evaluation:

    Total marks: 100

    Midterm Exam/ Termpaper: 30 Marks.

    Sessional activities ( quizz, presentation, assignments, class participation) : 20 Marks.

    Final Term Exam: 50 Marks.
