This course provides guidelines to students to use modern techniques in assessment used in education. It initiates discussion of assigned readings and presentations on issues in assessment existing in global as well as in national and indigenous educational institutions. The course offers ample opportunity to students to reflect upon their readings in the sessions and come up with their own views based on logic and derived from analyzing situtaion prevailing at global as well as at local level. It also discusses criteria of evaluating thesis/dissertation as per standards of advanced countries.

Project:

Students will be assigned to review existing literature of various countries of their own choice to collect information concerning issues in assessment in the selected countries. They will be required to read and reflect on the issues of those countries. Comparison will be made by adopting critical approach between global and regional issues existing in educational institutions. This project will provide an opportunity to students to analyse and compare assessment criteria adopted in different educational institutions of Pakistan with those of developed and developing countries.
