01 Week-1; Introduction to statistics: Meaning and definitions of statistics, Use of statistics in modern sociology, sampling, Methods of data collection.

02 Week-2; Types of data: Primary, Secondary, Qualitative, Quantitative, Un grouped and Grouped data Descriptive and Inferential Statistics.

03 Week-3; Levels of Measurement: Nominal, Ordinal, Interval and ratio.

04 Week-4; Frequency Distribution, Tabulation, organization and Graphic presentation.

05 Week-5; Measures of central distribution: Mean Median and Mode.

06 Week-6; Measures of Position: Percentiles, Quartiles, Deciles

07 Week-7; Measures of dispersion: Range, Mean deviation

08 Week-8; Variance and standard deviation

09 Week-9; Quartile deviation

10 Week-10; Probability: Basic concepts, Rules of Probability

11 Week-11; Theory of probability in long range interpretation of data.

12 Week-12; the normal distribution curve: For SOC of normal curve, Area under the normal curve.

13 Week-13; Test of significance: Single sample test, two sample test, Difference of mean and proportion

14 Week-14; Non-pregmative test: Chi square, Gamma Test

15 Week-15; Correlation and regression: Pearson correlation, Regression analysis

16 Week-16;The analysis of variance: One way and Two way analysis of variance
