Grammar (English 1), (URCE 5191), BS 1st (Regular/Self)

Aims & objectives:

The course introduces the students the fundamental rules to acquire and use language in academic context. The course aims at developing grammatical competence of the learners to use grammatical structures in context in order to make the experience of learning English more meaningful enabling the students to meet their real life communication needs. The objectives of the course are to, reinforce the basics of grammar, understand the basic meaningful units of language, and introduce the functional aspects of grammatical categories and to comprehend language use by practically working on the grammatical aspects of language in academic settings.

Learning Outcomes:


At the end of the course the students will be able:


1.  To display their communicative behavior through correct usage of English language in both spoken and written skills.


2. To enable themselves to reflect and improve their grip on rules and regulations of English as second language as University students. 


3. To build capacities for self-criticism and facilitate growth of correct usage and practice in academic and educational setup.


4. To lead towards effective performances in communication through written and spoken skills.
