Acadamic Writing

Academic writing is a formal writing.

Purpose of this course is the development of the skills in students that help them to grasp the true essence of learning and specifically  to enhance writing abilities of the students who are the part of higher education because it is the demand of time to be accurate and correct in your writing skills.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of the this course students will be able to apply all these skills of academic writing practically and can meet the demands of advanced studies.

1. Academic Vocabulary

2. Quoting, summarizing and parapharasing the text

3. Process of academic writing

4. Developing arguments

5. Rhetoric: persuation and qidentification

6. Elements of rhetoric: text, author, audiences, purposes, setting

7. Sentence structure: Accuracy, Variation, appropriateness and consciousness

8.  Appropriate use of active voice and passive voice

9. Paragraph Writing and Essay Writing

10. Organization and structure of paragraoh and essay

11. Logical reasoning

12. Transitional devices

13. Development of ideas in writing

14. Style of documentation (MLA and IPA)

15. In-text Citation

16. Plagiarism and strategies for avoiding it.
